Love is the most powerful force in the universe. Nothing motivates more. You can inspire a football team to get angry and their inspiration lasts for a quarter of play, or until they get tired. You can inspire a football team to love and they will play their hearts out for an entire season.
As a dad I love my children – I would give my life for them.
God/Jesus gave His life for me b/c He is Love! The Father and author of Love. The essence of Love. The embodiment of Love. He is Love! I John 4:8 – “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is Love.” Jesus is Love in the form of a person!
I Cor 13:4-8A – “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails…” God created us for an intimate Love relationship with Him! That is our main purpose in life.
My relationship with my wife, my children and my family and friends is but a shadow of the reality of Love and Life with Him! He intends for us to be together forever, never to part.
He loves us enough that He gives us a choice to love Him or to reject Him. This choice – there in lies the source of all pain and suffering. Adam and Eve’s choice to separate themselves from Him created the brokenness of our world. Jesus’ act of Love reconciled us to God so our world can be healed, and so that we now have the choice to not continue to be separated from Him.
This is the good (incredible) news otherwise known in Bible as the Gospel! We learn how to love each other when we first learn what it means to be loved by Him. He is the bridegroom! We are the bride! He proposes marriage to us.
To all who have the heart to listen… please get to know Him, spend time with Him – and say yes to His proposal!
